Stick around after the first track (which is fifteen minutes of soft noise and bits of feedback) and you’ll be surprised. Gentle folk-rock is housed next to pulsing instrumental freak-outs – a lot like Oedipus Schmoedipus (Barry Adamson), but a looser, more improvised feel. Strange as it may seem, the sound of this band owes something to the psychedelic blues of Jethro Tull. They aren’t as heavy on the blues, but they do rock out.
And the flute playing is much, much better.
